Jiawei Zhao is a jewellery designer, who believes that jewellery is a linguistic symbol of the wearer's identity and belonging. She pays attention to the democracy in art. She is committed to the art form in which the audience can participate in, making the jewellery more functional in the design. Her designs could also be interactive tools.

Her work <Sensory Experience Device> combines jewellery and tableware to expand the extension of jewellery, emphasizing the audience's use process. She was inspired by the psychological phenomenon of ‘synesthesia’ and used wood as the material of sensory experience. She studied oral movements during meals to give the audience more eating experience and hoped that the audience can communicate with food through tools and realize the importance of tasting food.

Her work <Secret> is also an interactive work. Her work revolves around personal feelings, colours and touch. It can communicate with her fingertips. She uses the coldness and hardness of ceramics to express her special treatment of birthmarks, and encourages the audience to think about the emotional marks of the body. 

The sense of touch inspires her and the fun of playing is the way she wants people to stop and feel.

她的作品《感官體驗器》將首飾與餐具結合拓展了首飾的外延，強調觀眾的使用過程。她受到“聯覺”心理現象的啟發，將木材作為感官體驗器的材料。她研究了吃飯時的口腔運動，給觀眾更多的飲食體驗過程。她希望觀眾通過工具與食物溝通，并認識到品嘗食物的重要性。 

她的作品《秘密》同樣具有互動性。她的作品圍繞著個人感受、色彩和觸感。它可以和指尖交流，她用陶瓷的冰冷與堅硬表現她內心對胎記的特殊對待，鼓勵觀眾思考身體的情感印記。

觸覺激勵著她，而玩耍是她希望人們停下來感受的方式。
